Prime Minister Vladimir Putin today spoke by telephone with Mongolian Prime Minister Sanjaa Bayar.
Mr Putin and Mr Bayar exchanged information on progress in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
They agreed in particular to hold a working meeting of government delegations on January 22 in Irkutsk. It will be led on the Russian side by Alexei Gordeyev, the chairman of the Russian-Mongolian commission, and on the Mongolian side, by the Mongolian Prime Minister. The meeting will discuss bilateral cooperation in such areas as transport, energy, farming, and mining.
Mr Putin and Mr Bayar also discussed matters related to holding another meeting of the Russian-Mongolian inter-governmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in February and agreed that Mr Bayar would visit the Russian Federation this spring.
