Vladimir Putin signed an executive order awarding Russian Government prizes for 2008 in the field of print media

1) Alexei Zhigailov, press photographer, member of the Association of Veteran Journalists of the Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS) and member of the Russian Union of Journalists;
2) Yury Kukhmar, editor-in-chief of the state-run newspaper Kuzbass; Olga Navayeva, first deputy editor-in-chief; Vera Karzova, special correspondent; Tatyana Dumenko, commentator; and Yury Dyakonov, executive secretary; all staff members of Kuzbass;
3) Yury Purgin, general director of Altapress Publishers; Vladimir Ovchinnikov, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Svobodny Kurs issued by Altapress Publishers; Dmitry Shevkunov, development editor; Irina Prokhorova, editor; Nadezhda Skalon, sub-editor; all staff members of Svobodny Kurs;
4) Viktor Sokirko, editor of the special supplement Moskovia to the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets; Irina Sokirko, special correspondent of Moskovsky Komsomolets;
5) Igor Tsagoyev, department head of the regional newspaper Severny Kavkaz;
6) Marina Shishkina, dean of the school of journalism at St Petersburg State University; Dmitry Gavra, the head of the theory of communications department at the school of journalism;
7) Yury Yakutin, research director of Ekonomicheskaya Gazeta Publishers; Tatyana Ivanova, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Ekonomika i Zhizn and first deputy general director; Igor Sklyarov, deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper Ekonomika i Zhizn; Margarita Panova, adviser-assistant to the research director; all members of the same company.
The Telecommunications and Mass Communications Ministry was instructed to produce badges of the 2008 Russian Government award winners in the field of print media, as well as certificates and diplomas, to present them in the established order, and to pay the cash part of the prizes to the winners.
