Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek of the Czech Republic, which currently holds the Presidency of the European Union, on the latter’s initiative

Mr Putin thanked Mr Topolanek for prompt and effective cooperation to guarantee unimpeded transit of Russian natural gas via Ukraine. 

They also discussed the prospects for a European Union loan to Ukraine and Russia's contribution to it.
