Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to the winners of the Environmental Project of the Year award, established by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Protection
His message said, in part:
"I am glad this ambitious contest has attracted so many Russian companies, universities, media outlets and private citizens. It involves any basic economic fields, including mining, energy, metal production, engineering, forestry and farming. The contest shows the rapidly growing number of companies actively implementing innovations and cutting-edge technology to achieve the highest ecological standards. Such companies are ever more prominent in national economic development.
"I hope this and similar contests will become traditions and continue to promote exchange of experience in nature and environment protection."
