Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed an Executive Order On Approving Regulations for Overseeing the Operation of Russian Trans-Border Checkpoints

These Regulations stipulate the relevant procedure for conducting border, customs, sanitary, veterinary, phyto-sanitary and transport control at trans-border checkpoints.

The procedure aims to speed up checks, to rule out duplicating functions of watchdog agencies during the transfer of private individuals, vehicles, consignments and animals across the Russian border. This objective will be accomplished by introducing the one-window principle and other measures.

One-time checks of vehicles, consignments, goods and animals will be conducted in specially equipped checkpoint areas and will involve representatives of the concerned government watchdog agencies.

The full text of the Executive Order is posted on the website of the Russian Government (www.government.ru).
