Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is to attend a meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s Member-States, scheduled to be held October 29-30, 2008 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is to attend a meeting of the Council of the Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation's Member-States, scheduled to be held October 29-30, 2008 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
The Council is to discuss various issues of socio-economic and humanitarian cooperation between SCO member-states and efforts to streamline SCO activity within the context of its August 28, 2008 summit in Dushanbe.
The parties will focus on possible multilateral actions to cope with the global financial crisis. The meeting is to adopt a number of decisions regarding the organisational and financial aspects of the SCO's activities and that of its permanent bodies.
Vladimir Putin will also pay a working visit to Kazakhstan, will meet with President Nursultan Nazarbayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan and will also negotiate with Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov.
