Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends greetings to the participants, organisers and guests of the 5th Conference of Regional Children’s Rights Commissioners
The message reads, in part:
"You are going to discuss a wide range of questions connected with protecting children's rights and legal interests. This is without question one of the most important priorities for the state, and the responsibility and concern of the whole of society.
I want to emphasise that the work of children's rights commissioners has a unique and elevated status. It requires not only a serious and competent approach to the matter in hand, but also emotional responsiveness, sensitivity and warmth. You have to react promptly and appropriately to every violation of the rights of minors, and take an uncompromising stand against all instances of violence and cruelty. The fate and future of every child that has ended up in difficult circumstances depends to a large extent on your efforts.
I am convinced that at this forum you will be able to share your extensive experiences in order to work through balanced, solid resolutions to your most pressing and critical professional challenges."
