The message, which was sent to the Pushkin Moscow Drama Theatre, reads, in part:
"Alexander Porokhovshchikov belonged to the illustrious cohort of true and great actors and directors, who cherished the wonderful traditions of our national school of dramatic art. His brilliant, unconventional and always-interesting screen and stage roles will always be engraved in the history of Russian culture and will remain in the hearts of his loved ones, friends and colleagues."
