Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the feast of the Resurrection of Christ
The congratulatory message reads, in part:
This great bright holiday inspires people to good deeds and noble aspirations. It serves as confirmation that such enduring values and moral compass points as caring for one's loved ones, compassion, empathy and tolerance are alive and well in today's society. During the Easter holiday all Orthodox believers feel an especial joy and spiritual uplifting.
It gladdens me to note that in recent years the Church has become more actively involved with state and public institutions, taking on new directions in the sphere of culture and education, the upbringing of our youth, the strengthening of the family and charity work. I am confident that this kind of collaboration will continue to grow in the future, to the benefit of our country.
