Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates employees of the Federal Space Agency and aerospace industry veterans on their professional holiday, Cosmonautics Day
The message reads, in part:
"April 12 is a professional holiday for the employees – scientists, engineers, designers and workers – of one of the more strategically important sectors of the Russian economy. Cosmonautics Day is a special, memorable date in the history of this country and in the chronicle of world civilisation. We are especially proud that it was this country that put into practice mankind's bold and audacious dream of flying into space and exploring the Universe.
Today Russia confidently maintains its lead in space exploration. The considerable scientific and technological potential of the aerospace industry, the experienced and highly-skilled personnel, the powerful production and infrastructure are our real competitive advantages and a crucial resource of national development."
