The message reads, in part:

"World famous crafts like khokhloma, gzhel, Rostov enamel, Orenburg shawls, Vologda lace and Kasli cast-iron sculptures have been the pride of our country for many centuries, and an integral part of our national cultural heritage. The aesthetic and spiritual ideals of our people are personified in the unique works created by many generations of talented masters.

I am confident that the forum will feature a broad and lively discussion of the most pressing professional problems, and will lead to a productive exchange of experience and new ideas, which will be important for the future development of the multifaceted activities of the Association of Folk Art and Crafts of Russia, and for preserving the great traditions of original handicrafts."
