Prime Minister Vladimir Putin expresses sincere condolences over the death of famous Russian diplomat, Igor Rogachyov

The telegram sent to the late diplomat's wife reads, in part:

"We have lost Igor Rogachyov, a gifted, versatile and well-educated man, a brilliant professional and a true patriot. His name and his many achievements during his long years of service mark the most significant pages in the history of Russian diplomacy, as well as many high-profile achievements in the most important areas of foreign policy.

"His extensive diplomatic and life experience, his background as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, his active stance and inexhaustible energy were also greatly welcomed in his parliamentary legislative work.

"His memory will love forever in the hearts of his family and friends, colleagues and co-workers."
