Joint Statement by the Governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation

Acting in the spirit of the joint approach coordinated by the heads of state of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation, and in consideration of the repeated statements by the United States and the European Union on the possible use of economic restrictions against one of the Member-States of the Customs Union/Common Economic Space, the governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation confirm their stance regarding the inadmissibility of using economic pressure or coercive measures.

These measures create artificial barriers in trade and unjustified obstacles to the economic interaction of business entities in the territory of the Customs Union/Common Economic Space, and infringe upon the legitimate economic security interests of the states, which may cause damage to productive and mutually beneficial cooperation as well as to the integration processes on the Eurasian continent. This action will result primarily in negative consequences for ordinary citizens.

The governments of the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Russian Federation are firmly convinced that it is an equitable and respectful dialogue alone that will promote the settlement of international differences, and are committed to the renunciation of any actions that could impair this dialogue.
