Prime Minister Vladimir Putin receives congratulations from heads of foreign states and governments on his victory in the presidential election
Heads of a number of CIS countries called Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to congratulate him on his convincing victory in the Russian presidential election held yesterday.
Congratulating Vladimir Putin were President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych and Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. Messages of congratulations were also received from President of Armenia Serj Sargsyan and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

Vladimir Putin has received congratulations by phone from Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda, King Abdullah II of Jordan, President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai, and Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.
A congratulatory message was also received from President of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao.
