Vladimir Putin sends his greetings to the participants and guests of a judo contest among seasoned and young athletes

The message reads, in part:

"I am happy that judo continues to develop in this country and that it attracts a growing number of people to the sport. Most importantly, it helps encourage sports and healthy living among young people, as evidenced by this unique tournament. This is the first tournament in which both seasoned professionals and young athletes who are just starting will participate. It is gratifying that young athletes receive all-round support and assistance from their trainers and seasoned professionals, and learn to respect their rivals and to win in an open and honest struggle."
