Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends his greetings to participants of the Third Russian Forum of Fishing Industry Workers
The message reads, in part:
"I welcome the participants and guests of the forum that has attracted representatives of enterprises, companies and associations of the Russian fishing industry, chiefs of government agencies, well-known scientists and experts. Fishery is one of the fundamental aspects of Russia's food security, to a great extent it determines the quality of life and economic prosperity of entire regions. It is difficult to overestimate the significance of your work in solving key social problems and securing Russia's strong positions in the global markets.
Today, workers in the fishing industry are facing new ambitious goals. It is important to focus on comprehensive system-wide modernization – upgrading the commercial fleet, enhancing the production and coastline infrastructure, developing aquaculture, improving the competitiveness of products and creating modern workplaces. And last but not least, we must take great care in how we exploit the unique abundance and biological diversity of our country and make use of the latest environmentally friendly technology."
