The message reads, in part:
"The legendary "Magnitka" became operational on February 1, 1932 when the first blast furnace was fired up. The plant's history includes everyday as well as heroic events. It has many bright and unforgettable pages, examples of the true and unbending courage of builders and the plant's workers. That is why the anniversary of the founding of your great plant is a remarkable event for the entire country.
Today, the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works continues to grow. It implements major investment projects and firmly holds the position of an acknowledged leader in the Russian steel industry. The plant achieves the most efficient production and the most powerful human potential, all while providing major social programmes. And, of course, the distinctive and professional traditions that have stood the test of time are treated with enormous respect at Magnitka."
