Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on his 50th birthday
The message reads, in part:
"I sincerely wish you excellent health, happiness, prosperity and new success in your demanding position as leader of Azerbaijan.
"Your name is directly linked to the most important period of Azerbaijan's development, marked by impressive social, economic and cultural achievements and growing international standing. You are a true leader of your nation and the voice of its aspirations and ambitions. Your tremendous political authority at home and abroad is indisputable.
"I would like to highlight your personal contribution to the development of fruitful Russian-Azerbaijani ties. Through your constructive efforts the partnership between our countries has been steadily expanding and entering a qualitatively new level.
"I always hugely enjoy our discussions. I am confident that we will have many meetings and contacts in the future and will continue our joint constructive efforts in the interests of the friendly nations of Russia and Azerbaijan."
