Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends a message of greetings to participants in the 11th Arts and Crafts Exhibition and Fair “Ladya. A Winter fairytale 2011”
The message reads, in part:
"Your remarkable display has long earned the admiration of all those who are interested in the decorative and applied arts. It also brings together recognised craftsmen and beginners from all over Russia. It invariably presents a variety of folk arts and crafts, enabling visitors to explore their diversity of genre and stylistic richness, while also providing insights into the history and traditions of folk crafts.
"In our day and age, it is important to preserve and expand this unique heritage in Russian culture, to develop traditional folk art centres, and to attract talented young people to work in this area.
"I am sure that the Ladya Exhibition and Fair will help popularise folk art industries, promote business contacts, and prompt genuine interest from the general public."
