Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends message of congratulations to participants, organisers and guests of the 15th International Congress of the National Association of Television and Radio Broadcasters
The message reads, in part:
Your forum is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of national television. Millions of Russian TV viewers celebrate this landmark event with you. For them, television has become a big part of their leisure activity and their life and an important source of information on politics, science, culture and sports.
This conference encompasses a broad range of issues in the development of television and radio broadcasting, the preservation of its wonderful traditions and the implementation of plans to convert to digital technology. It is important that the production and broadcast of multimedia programmes continue to include the pursuit of legal support for cooperation between the various forms of media and the creation of top-quality content.
I am confident that this conference will be held in a constructive atmosphere, that you will discuss in detail many important issues, and that many useful initiatives and projects will be approved.
I would like to congratulate you on the anniversary of Russian television. I wish you every success and all the best.
