Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates former and current road transport workers on their professional holiday, the Road Transport Workers’ Day
The message reads, in part:
"The motor transportation industry, which is rightfully considered one of the key strategic sectors of the Russian economy, plays a huge role in promoting its industrial and technological potential, as well as the development of interregional and international relations. Its reliable, uninterrupted operation performs a vitally important social function.
"Today, workers in the industry perform complex, major and highly relevant tasks aimed at improving the quality and competitiveness of their services, increasing traffic and renovating infrastructure. In addition, the issues demanding the utmost attention are upgrading the motor vehicle fleet and the broad introduction of technology to meet modern standards of safety, reliability and environmental friendliness.
"I am confident that your accumulated experience, excellent work ethic and extensive government support will help you achieve your goals."
