Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends a message of congratulations to delegates and guests of the National Convention of Geography Teachers
The message reads, in part:
"I consider the reinstatement of national geography teachers' forums, held under the auspices of the Russian Geographical Society, to be a popular initiative and an important step in the consolidation of the professional community around common goals and objectives. And, of course, these meetings should help raise the prestige of your profession. The tutorial and educational mission of school-level educators-geographers deserves the sincerest respect. It is you who open the doors into the huge and fascinating world of knowledge about our world to school students. It is you who instill in them a love for their country and home, and who largely form the world view of young people.
"I'm confident that the current forum will become an effective and influential platform for interesting and productive discussions between delegates, leading scientists, analysts and experts, members of the Russian Geographical Society and the heads of specialised ministries and departments. This serious dialogue will enable teachers, who have arrived from various Russian regions, to exchange experience and to gain an insight into the latest advances of science and modern education technology.
"I wish the convention productive work, as well as every success in this noble and selfless work."
