Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends his greetings to the participants and guests of the White Cane festival, which is held under the auspices of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Blind and Visually Impaired Children
The message reads, in part:
"I'm sincerely pleased that your noble initiative of human significance has been implemented, that it has attracted broad public attention, and that it has helped many gifted children to find their own place in creative work.
"I'm sure that no one visiting this festival will leave with a feeling of indifference, as everyone present here takes other people's pain and grief close to heart, and strives to do everything possible, so that children will acquire a stronger faith in their own potential, will be able to enjoy their life and communicate with others, and will acquire confidence in tomorrow and also feel reliable support."
"I would like to sincerely thank you for your kindness, spiritual generosity, for your sincere involvement in the lives of these children and for your responsible civic stance."
