The message of congratulations reads, in part:

"You are one of the brilliant, prominent athletes who were the originators of the famous national ice dancing school. Your performances with Lyudmila Pakhomova and triumphant victories at top-level competitions have become one of the most outstanding chapters in the history of figure skating and the entire high-achivement sport, and have enriched the traditions of the Olympic movement.

"It is vitally important that at present you faithfully pursue your favourite work, are deeply involved in essential social and organisational activities and pay great attention to training young skaters."
