Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signs executive order on raising public-sector salaries by 6.5% beginning October 1, 2011

This Executive Order instructs federal bodies establishing affiliated federal state, public-sector and independent agencies, as well as the managing directors of federal-budget allocations, to raise public-sector wages and salaries by 6.5% on October 1, 2011. The upcoming pay raise applies to employees of federal, public-sector and independent agencies; the employees of federal agencies, as well as the civilian personnel of military units, agencies and divisions of federal authority stipulating military and military-type service, being paid under the Government's August 5, 2008 Resolution No. 583 "On the Introduction of New Remuneration Systems for the Employees of Federal Pubic-Sector and State Agencies, Federal Institutions of State Authority, As Well as the Civilian Personnel of Military Units, Agencies and Divisions of Federal Executive-Power Bodies Stipulating Military and Military-Type Service, Being Paid Under the Joint Wage Rates System for the Employees of Federal State Agencies." The same resolution also applies to the employees of state academies of sciences and their affiliated agencies.
