Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends greetings to former and current workers of Russia’s nuclear industry on Nuclear Industry Day
The message reads, in part:
"You are working in one of the key and strategic sectors of the Russian economy. Our nuclear professionals' high level of skill at all levels of the industry, their extensive knowledge, experience and responsibility in doing their duty are essential to the country's energy security, defence capability and national research and intellectual potential.
"It is worth noting that the industry's unfailing success certainly builds upon your longstanding traditions. This year, more power generating facilities went online and massive new international projects became reality. You have boosted uranium production and have tapped lucrative new reserves.
"You have also achieved remarkable results in the development of advanced spacecraft and medical equipment, and in Arctic exploration. All of these achievements make Russia more competitive and augment its national wealth."
