Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has a telephone conversation with Germany’s Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel

The two officials discussed current issues of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Germany, focusing particularly on energy cooperation.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the start-up of the new natural gas pipeline, Nord Stream, which is scheduled for a month from now.

Mr Putin and Ms Merkel also noted that the two countries are maintaining a stable energy dialogue, showing a clear trend in its expansion.
