Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates teachers and students on Knowledge Day and the start of a new academic year
The message of congratulations reads, in part:
"This wonderful date is valued by all generations. Enduring memories of school and university years, favourite teachers and true friends remain in our hearts and support us in times of need.
"But most important people of the day are first-year primary school students. Today, they will sit at their desks for the first time, open their textbooks and turn a new page in their lives. They have a wonderful time ahead, the time of discoveries and hopes, fascinating experiences and exciting meetings.
"Dear students, your thirst for knowledge, persistence, patience and diligence will determine how you enter the adult life, as well as the future of Russia. With all my heart, I wish you success in your studies, good health and well-being. May all your dreams come true."
