"The coal mining industry is on the rise now. It ensures the stable operation of major industrial companies as well as housing and utility facilities, and plays an important role in the country's energy security. Russian coal producers are developing new deposits and gaining stronger positions on the Russian and foreign markets.
"The continued modernisation of this industry is one of the government's top priorities. It is important that we introduce modern high-tech equipment and technologies that meet global standards, first and foremost in the area of mining safety. Special attention will also be given to the social protection of active and retired miners."
