Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates the workers and retired veterans of the railway industry on their professional holiday – Railway Workers’ Day
The message of congratulations reads in part:
"Today we celebrate those who have dedicated their lives to this challenging and honorable profession, those competent and dedicated professionals like our machinists and engineers, our builders, dispatchers and maintenance workers. You can be proud of your rich, time tested traditions.
"I would like to note that consistent and detail oriented work in every aspect of our railway transport system are two elements that contribute to the successful and dynamic development of the Russian economy, the further consolidation of Russia's industrial potential and the realisation of large-scale infrastructure projects.
"I am certain that in the future you will continue to successfully cope with the challenges that face the industry. Among those challenges are the modernisation of Russia's railway system, the introduction of new technology and the construction of new railway lines. And certainly, this includes quality assurances and competitive services."
