Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates Russia’s metallurgists on Metallurgist Day

The telegram reads, in part:

"The metal industry is one of the Russian economy's key, pivotal industries. Efficient work by metallurgists is instrumental to consolidating the nation's defence potential and enhancing its industrial might.

"Your current challenges include technical and technological re-equipment of production facilities, as well as the introduction of energy-saving technology and of advanced environmental standards. And, of course, we should focus a lot of attention on problems of social security for workers, both operational and retired, on personnel training, and on the creation of new, modern jobs."
