Vladimir Putin congratulates the Altai Republic on the 255th anniversary of the Altai people’s voluntary joining the Russian state and on the 20th anniversary of the republic’s establishment

The message of congratulations reads, in part:

"You have every right to be proud of your fellow citizens for their glorious deeds and achievements for our nation, and for the republic's significant contribution to increasing Russia's national wealth.

In recent years, the region has done a great deal to resolve key socio-economic tasks, to ensure agricultural production growth, and to tap scientific and intellectual potential. And, of course, a lot has been done to preserve cultural variety and distinctive national traditions.

I would like to stress that you are keeping abreast of the times while being actively engaged in promising projects and mastering new areas of development."
