Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends greetings to the First National Forum “Russia’s Preschool Teachers”
The message reads, in part:
"I believe that your civic initiative is very important and needed. Preschool education problems affect millions of Russian families, and our ability to find effective solutions to them will largely determine the well-being and mental health of our society and our country's demographic outlook.
"We have a lot to accomplish together, including enhancing the quality of education services, expanding access to education, and supporting innovative programmes aimed at the comprehensive development of each child and unleashing their creative potential. I believe that in our work to improve preschool education we should take our cue from professional teachers.
"For our part, we will do all it takes to unite all levels of government in the effort to support preschool education. We will build new nurseries, reopen ones that have been designated for other purposes, and ensure that teachers and child care providers are paid a decent salary. These are our priorities."
