Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates Russian farmers on Farmers Day
The message reads, in part:
"Your difficult but necessary work in one of the Russian economy's priority sectors deserves the deepest appreciation. Over a relatively short time in history farming has established itself on Russian soil and proven its viability. Preserving and building on the best traditions of farm work in an entrepreneurial manner, you have made impressive progress in Russian agriculture. In this respect I would like to point out the productive work of the Russian Association of Private Farms and Agricultural Cooperatives that makes a tangible contribution to the consolidation of your professional community and to addressing its issues.
"For its part, the government will continue to support farming entities, including start-ups."
