Prime Minister Vladimir Putin greets participants and guests of the 25th annual conference of Victim Support Europe

The message reads, in part:
"I'd like to begin by saying that Victim Support Europe has been working for years to help the victims of crime and to contribute to the programmes of practical support for such people.
"It is important that the staff and the numerous volunteers helping the organisation take on a great number of tasks efficiently and professionally, in particular providing legal information and medical support to victims of crime and assist with their financial problems. Crime prevention is also one of the organisation's priorities.
"Russia is not only a member of Victim Support Europe but also works to help achieve its goals. Evidence of this is the organisation's annual conference that is being held in Moscow for the first time.
"I am confident that a constructive exchange of opinion on matters of common concern will be held during this conference."
