"I am sincerely pleased that this project was realised and that filmmakers, actors, screenwriters, and other cinematographic professionals representing Arctic nations are meeting again in Murmansk to discuss their new work in a relaxed and informal setting and, of course, to share their films with the audience.
Russia is very interested in expanding its business, political, and humanitarian contacts with the countries of the Arctic. The International Arctic Forum "The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue" is a vivid confirmation of that interest. The forum has already established certain traditions and is becoming a popular venue for broad and honest discussion of the current issues facing Arctic countries. The forum can serve as an excellent starting point for the joint implementation of exciting and creative initiatives. The Northern Lights Film Festival is certainly one such success."
