Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends his congratulations to the Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company on its 20th anniversary

The message of congratulations reads, in part:

"A new, challenging media project was launched 20 years ago on May 13, 1991. The Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (Rossiya Channel) played a vital role in the emergence and development of contemporary Russian media and in the life of our country. That is why this anniversary is celebrated by the broadcasting company together with its huge audience in Russia and abroad.

"I believe the Rossiya Channel's ever-growing popularity and significance can be attributed to your talented team's adeptly co-ordinated activities, as well as the attention and respect you show to your audience. Moreover, it is a result of a sincere striving for professionalism in the making of all of the channel's programmes – from news and analysis to entertainment and children's programmes."
