Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Russia on the Resurrection of Christ
The message of congratulations reads, in part:
"During this Easter time, full of joy and warmth, people feel elation and aspire to do more good in the world. Under your primacy, the Russian Orthodox Church has Church has revived and developed the spiritual and cultural heritage of Orthodoxy as well as a sense of social engagement based on the traditions of charity and compassion, which is of great importance to our society. The Russian Orthodox Church has also done a lot for the consolidation of civil concord and interfaith dialogue.
There is little doubt that the centuries-old wisdom of Orthodoxy will continue to form the basis of the Russian people's spiritual and moral framework in our lives and creative endeavors. I wish you health and strength of spirit in your important patriarchal service for the benefit of the people of Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church."
