Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates the staff of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research on the 55th anniversary of its founding

The message reads, in part:

"The [institute's] rich history and significant accomplishments are a shining example of effective integration, open dialogue, exchange of experience and joining efforts to address critical, fundamental problems.

"Combining powerful intellectual and creative resources has helped the Institute to become one of the leaders in world science and the initiator of major, sought-after research projects and initiatives on a global scale. Today, an extensive series of programmes is being implemented, ranging from theoretical and experimental development to the introduction of new technologies in industry. Training of highly qualified personnel is ongoing.

"I am confident that the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will continue to actively promote scientific and technological progress, and contribute to the consolidation of the international scientific community."
