Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends message of congratulations to Igor Gorynin, president and research director of Prometei Central Research Institute of Structural Materials and member of Russian Academy of Sciences, on his 85th birthday
The message reads, in parts:
"A globally renowned scientist, you have made a great contribution to the development of modern science and earned worldwide recognition as the author of breakthrough discoveries. Unique engineering materials you have developed have been extensively used for building submarines, deep-operating vehicles, offshore production platforms and pipelines.
"Your vast experience, profound knowledge and the ability to think creatively and long-term have allowed you to establish a prestigious school and involve a great number of talented students and followers in this much-needed work."
