Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends message of greetings to participants in the sporting event “Your Voice, Your Goal!”

The message reads, in part:

"We are proud that Russia has been chosen to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Our bid's chief advantages were the numerous victories of our athletes, broad public support, the nationwide popularity of football, and our vast experience in hosting large sports events.

"Now it is the regions' turn to make a contribution. In the next few years, they must build new stadiums, hotels and a modern transport infrastructure, and must also implement the required cultural and travel projects of interest to the public.

"It is important that people in the Kaliningrad Region, especially young people, wholeheartedly welcome the idea of holding World Cup matches in their region. This means that your dream will certainly come true."
