Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief Sergei Shoigu, Minister of Regional Development Viktor Basargin and Arkhangelsk Region Governor Ilya Mikhalchuk report back to Prime Minister Vladimir Putin by telephone on the current situation in the town of Nyandoma in the Arkhangelsk Region, where last week thousands of people were left without heating after a local heating station stopped operating

Prime Minister Putin received reports that all the necessary equipment and parts have been delivered to Nyandoma's heating station, three boilers have already resumed operation, and another one still needs to be repaired.

Heating supplies to houses and public facilities are being restored gradually. Several local schools are currently closed on account of the unusually cold weather, rather than the interruption in heating supplies.

Minister Basargin noted that one of the repaired boilers is unstable, which inspectors of the Federal Service for Supervision of Environment, Technology and Nuclear Management explain by the improper use of the equipment and facilities by local public utilities.

Prime Minister Putin demanded that Governor Mikhalchuk report back on the situation regarding the use of heating equipment and facilities in the region, noting that local authorities should pay more attention to this issue, resolving all problems caused by the accident and avoiding the recurrence of such an accident.
