Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends message to delegates and guests of the Second Congress of the National Grain Producers Union

The message reads, in part:

“I consider the establishment of the National Grain Producers Union in 2010 an important and timely initiative and a real step in a unified approach to industry problems. It so happened that the first year of the union’s work seriously tested its strength and popularity. The union proved its viability by pooling its resources to overcome last summer’s severe drought.

For its part, the state implemented a package of measures in support of agriculture, to strengthen its financial stability and to provide it with the necessary resources. I would like to stress that we do not hesitate to support the development of the agro-industrial sector.

I’m confident that the Union will continue to play an important role in forming a cost-effective grain market and in transforming Russian agriculture into a high-tech and competitive economic sector, creating and strengthening a reliable, constructive partnership between the state and the grain producers.”
