Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates the teachers, students, postgraduate students and graduates of the Lomonosov Moscow State University on Russian Students Day (St. Tatiana Day) and on the university’s 256th anniversary

The message reads, in part:

"This year we are celebrating not only St. Tatiana Day [the patron saint of all students], but also the 300th birthday of Mikhail Lomonosov, after whom Russia's largest university is named. During the past few decades, your university has continued to improve, and is now regarded as one of the country's leading educational and research centres. Strong traditions, talented teachers devoted to their vocation and of course wonderful, gifted students have always been the crown jewel of your university. The prestige of an MSU diploma testifies to the high quality of education at the university. I would especially like to highlight that Moscow State University has started implementing an important and popular Development Programme based on the new development policy both for MSU and for Russia's higher education system as a whole."
