Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends greetings to participants and guests of the 19th International Christmas Educational Readings “The church and the state: cooperation in resolving common issues”
The message reads, in part:
"During the past few years, your forum has become one of the largest and most important events in the country's public and cultural life. The number of participants in the Readings grows each year, which is great because the forum's main focus remains the spiritual, moral and patriotic education of youth and the promotion of a productive dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Church and the public.
"I am confident that the hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Orthodox hierarchs from abroad, the believers, scientists and teachers will be able to discuss these important issues during this meeting and, most importantly, give authoritative advice for today's youth to help consolidate our society and preserve the unfading values that unite us."
