Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates employees of the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief on the Rescuer Day and the ministry’s 20th anniversary
The message reads, in part:
"Since its foundation and to this day, the Emergencies Situations Ministry has been successfully tackling significant and large-scale issues of preventing emergencies and protecting the people from natural and industrial disasters. The ministry's history boasts many examples of true heroism, courage and passionate commitment to the job. Russian rescuers have proven their competence, efficiency and determination on many occasions. You are always the first to come to the rescue of those in need and in peril. The ministry's employees demonstrated their best qualities this year when many Russia's regions were hit by wildfires. Your self-sacrificing work earned you sincere appreciation of the people.
It is important to say that you are continuously upgrading your professional skills using the most advanced and knowledge-intensive rescue technology and equipment."
