Prime Minister Vladimir Putin speaks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk over the telephone

During the conversation, the prime ministers praised the documents signed today in Warsaw on cooperation in the gas industry. They stressed that this was an example of the new quality of Russian-Polish relations. In particular, the documents provide for not only an increase in Russian gas supplies to Poland, but also for an extension of natural gas transit to European consumers until 2045, which is of special importance. The implementation of these arrangements will in fact promote energy security in Europe.
In addition, the heads of government discussed the general progress in trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. They pointed out that unlike last year, when mutual trade declined by 37.5%, this year's trade turnover from January to August went up by 33.4%.
Vladimir Putin and Donald Tusk have decided to continue working in line with such positive dynamics.
