The message reads, in part:
"Traditionally, your meetings have made a positive contribution to resolving issues linked with forest protection and the development and technological modernisation of the Russian forest industry. This agenda is particularly important today when measures to overcome the consequences of this year's wildfire emergency are being realised and decisions to prevent such disasters from happening in the future are being taken. Our task is to improve legislation, to introduce new cost-effective managerial mechanisms in the sector and to enhance the responsibility of regional and federal agencies and timber industry companies.
"I hope that these issues will become the focus of the forum, and that the state and society will receive appropriate, well conceived recommendations."
