Prime Minister Vladimir Putin sends a greeting to participants and guests of 5th International Fishery Congress which started on September 7, 2010, in Vladivostok
The message reads in part:
"I am happy to see that your forum has established itself and become a prestigious discussion platform on an international scale. Urgent issues in the fishing industry, including improvements in efficiency are planned and discussed here. Opportunities for cooperation within the professional community are discussed and defined here as well. This is especially important today as the nation's fishing industry starts to take advantage of new and promising technology and to implement innovation, thus entering a new era.
"I expect that the proposals and recommendations worked out during this conference will promote an exchange of information and experience, strengthen interregional and international cooperation, and help to overcome any obstacles the fishing industry may face."
