Prime Minister Vladimir Putin congratulates residents of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk Territory’s Nikolayevsk district, on the town’s 160th anniversary and the district’s 45th anniversary

 
 
 

The message of congratulations reads, in part:

"You can be rightfully proud of Nikolayevsk-on-Amur's wonderful history and of the exceptional role the town has played in exploring Russia's Far East and in defending the country's frontiers. People will always remember the name Gennady Nevelskoy, admiral and founder of the Nikolayevsky Post, as well as other renowned compatriots who contributed to the Motherland's glory with their military and developmental achievements.

I am confident that you will continue to carry on the wonderful traditions of your ancestors' numerous generations."
